We were chatting with our friend on skype the other week – discussing how things were going and talking about writing books amongst other things ….. and we got rou
nd to talking about WHY people get into an MLM business or just working online. He has a very successful MLM business and we help people build businesses online.
And naturally enough the subject came round to Why do people choose to work with certain people.
So we talked for a little while longer ……. then Susan went off to research here favourite video channel TED Talks and found herself at the video we are going to share with you here.
You’re going to really get a lot out of it but it is rather long so we suggest you grab yourself a coffe and a notebook and pen as you are definitely going to want to right some of the key points down.
Simon Sinek presents a simple but powerful model for how leaders inspire action, starting with a golden circle and the question “Why?” His examples include Apple, Martin Luther King, and the Wright brothers
What we love, and which is just what we were discussing with our friend is that people don’t buy WHAT you do … they buy WHY you do it. If you get that right then this is the best recipe for success.
Your goal should be to do business with people who BELIEVE what YOU Believe.
He talks of the story of Apple and The Wright Brothers as great examples but the best one for us that totally exemplifies this is the story of Dr Martin Luther King.
In the summer of 1963 250,000 people got together in the Mall in Washington to hear Martin Luther King speak. There were no emails and no website. How did he do that?
He had a gift – he didn’t tell people WHAT needed to change in America. He said “I BELIEVE” and people who believed what he believed took his cause and made it their won. They told other people and lo and behold 250,000 people showed up on the right day at the right time to hear him speak. The question is “How Many people showed up for him?” ZERO. They showed up for themselves, for what they believed in.
And … the famous speach “I have a dream” … not I have a plan!

Here’s what it means for you …. whether you have an online business, and MLM, a Direct Sales business. It doesn’t matter
Tip #1 People don’t buy what you do, they buy why you do it. Apply this in your business. It’s the principles you live buy and attraction marketing at its best.
Tip #2 The goal is not to do business with people who need what you have. The goal is to do business with people who believe what you believe.
Tip #3 It’s in our make up – biology, physiology as human beings to buy what we believe in.
